Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated TECHNICAL WRITER – TRAINING SPECIALIST who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa - Italy.

Genoa offices are, as of now, the Hitachi Rail headquarters in Italy.

Currently we are looking for enthusiastic and pioneering candidates, driven by technological challenge and success, who want to contribute to the satisfaction of our customers and to the growth and global leadership of our business.

Mission: Develop complete operation and maintenance manuals, training materials and training plans for a complete subsystem in accordance with customer or contract requirements while adhering to company standards.


  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of technical manuals by collecting information from subsystem specifications, design documents, and subject matter experts.
  • Contribute to the identification, preparation, and scheduling of in house or subcontracted trainers.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit product manuals and service manuals.
  • Ensures the delivery of customer training courses for at least one assigned STS subsystem or product.
  • Contribute to the effort to provide cost estimates and text descriptions for tenders.
  • Provide specific project schedule and planning information to the Work Package Leader as required.
  • Ensures the planning, development, and maintenance of operation and maintenance manuals, on company products and/or systems in accordance with customer or contract requirements while adhering to company standards.
  • Ensures the planning, development, and maintenance of training materials to support corresponding customer training courses in accordance with customer or contract requirements while adhering to company standards.
  • Ensures technical writing support for Engineering and other groups as required.

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field or Equivalent Technical background
  • From 3 up to 5 years of relevant experience -
  • Proven ability to do technical writing and deliver customer training.
