TELECOMS ENGINEER – WORK PACKAGE LEADER

HITACHI RAIL STS USA, INC. is seeking a Telecoms Engineer - Work Package Leader to work in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The  Engineer will be required to perform the following duties: (1) Work Package Leader of radio communications design packages at project levels; (2) Work Package Leader of  radio communication design packages during bid stages; (3) Plan, execute, and control design, configuration, test and commissioning activities and deliver engineering design packages as per contract and specifications for telecom system according to the overall program schedule; (4) Design and commissioning of complex telecom and security technologies and comply with project requirements; (5) Prepare conceptual, preliminary, detailed and installation design for each telecom and security technology; (6) Create Bill of Materials (BoM), support procurement department ordering equipment in particular for the wired and wireless telecommunications networks, and participate in products selection; (7) Identify and analyze technology environment and manage technical requirements;  (8) Report to the project and telecoms managers   telecoms related items updates and progress; (9)  Updates of documentation needed in the design to support both internal and external partners; (10) Meet and interface with clients and subcontractors to meet project milestones and achieve best project delivery outcomes;  (11) Identification and resolution of the interfaces with the main subsystems (e.g. Signaling, RAMS, Quality, Rolling Stock, etc.) according to the project design schedule; and (12) Creation of the design, configuration and testing of Wireless tele-communications networks.

Position requires a Bachelor in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering, as well as three years of experience in a telecommunications engineering position.

Experience required with the following: (1) telecom field engineering experience, including cellular NOC support engineering experience; (2) lead engineering experience for Critical Network Upgrades; (3) core network engineering experience, and radio and network performance engineering experience; and (4) experience with critical projects and network key expansions nationally and internationally, including network dismantling, upgrade and expansion, network swaps, monitoring and improving radio network KPI performance.
