PSG Technician

Hitachi Rail  is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated PSG Technician (Platform Screen Gate) to work on our Honolulu Rail Project.  As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City/Honolulu, HI.

Accountabilities:

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned ATC (Automatic Train Control) on-board equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ maintenance manuals and instructions
• Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required
• Perform the maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance and safety procedures and instructions  
• Observes ATC system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locates causes of malfunction
• Uses electronic test equipment and other specialized tools as required
• Perform planned and corrective maintenance activities on Platform Screen Gates
• Prepare technical reports as required by the ATC Leader Technician
• Role requires flexibility which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems
• Perform additional job duties as assigned

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

• Escalator/Elevator technician experience highly desired
• Associate’s Degree or community college certificate in electrical or mechanical studies or related field
• 2 years electrical or mechanical experience preferred
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment
• Ability to attain knowledge and follow safety rules
