The Role

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to work on our AWS and GCP public cloud deployments. This role would support the Dev-Ops teams that are creating solutions for our customers, designing, and deploying new systems for internal and external customers, monitoring, and protecting our cloud environments. Our team supports hardware, product engineering and consulting teams located around the world and have a broad variety of supported applications. A well-qualified candidate will have broad AWS experience in architecting and deploying best practice solutions, and experience in GCP deployments using GKE. Experience in cloud networking and security would be beneficial.

What you'll be doing

• Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
• Deploy and support GKE clusters utilized by Dev-Ops teams in GCP
• Advise internal customers on best practices and procedures
• Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
• Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code
• Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems
• Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
• Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS/GCP infrastructure
• Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

What you bring to the team

Experience
• At least 5-8 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3)
• Experience in Cloud networking using Transit Gateways, VPC peering, and VPN connections in AWS/GCP
• Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
• Expertise using Chef for configuration management
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform
• Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
• Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK and deploying applications on AWS
• Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
• Strong bias for action and ownership
