Description

HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Signaling Functional Design Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Munich.

Accountabilities:

  • Configuration Management of Hardware and Software in the field
  • Customer Interface
  • Document control and management
  • Co-ordination with project team
  • Should be able to read and understand standards and requirements specifications
  • Develop test procedures from Requirements
  • Develop Static and Dynamic test procedures
  • Perform test in the field
  • Perform troubleshooting in the field
 

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Electrical Engineering – 7 years’ minimum
  • Ability to perform testing independently
  • Basic idea about testing on Trains
  • Familiar with reading Electrical Schematics
  • Familiar with Configuration Management and Requirement Management
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity in development of test procedures and execution of testing in accordance with applicable standards (i.e., EN 50128, IEEE 1558, EN 50121-3-2, EN 50155, etc.)
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products
  • 3-5 year experience in testing within the railway or other regulated field

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Ability to understand testing methods
  • Knowledge of the testing and reporting processes to implement process improvement methods or tools
  • Trouble shooting in the field
  • Effective time management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Customer Interface
  • Able to test independently
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management and Interface Management
  • Able to read schematics and troubleshoot

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Languages: English Proficiency
