POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the radiator fitter is responsible for the service and repair of radiators, Oil Coolers, Charge air coolers and other associated products in line with COR Cooling’s work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and QA standards.

  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner whilst adhering to policies and statutory regulations and alerting others regarding potential concerns.

  • Carry out reasonable instructions given by your supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operational Requirements

Operation of basic hand tools such as grinders, spray painting equipment and other tools and machinery, Provide leadership and assist with the training of new staff and other team members, Provide direction and supervision including appropriate inspections for other workers within work area; Radiator repairs; Radiators rebuild and bolt up; Prepare and paint to customer standards; Stripping, washing, and testing radiators and cooling components Buffing radiator tubes Use of basic hand tools; Turn out work of a consistently high quality with minimal rework; Complete quality inspections inline with documented quality systems; Manual handling Maintenance of equipment and tools within work area; Undertake appropriate housekeeping duties to ensure the safe operation of their work area.

Record Keeping and Documentation

Non-compliance report; Time recording and time sheets; Quality control documents; Conduct regular Occupational Hazard Assessments with team members.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to Company improvement in areas such as safety, quality, environmental, production methods, efficiency, tooling, job functions etc. Provide training on any equipment. Undertake training as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required

4-8 years dedicated radiator repair/rebuild experience; Mechanical aptitude; 4-8 years’ experience welding; 4-8 years’ experience soldering having the ability to repair and overhaul core’s; 4-8 year’s experience with complete disassemble and rebuild/reassembly of radiators; Experienced in the operation of workshop equipment; Exceptional customer service skills; Forklift licence; Dogging licence; Demonstrated experience in working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds;

Preferred

Mechanical Trade, including Boiler making Tig & Mig Welding Steel and Aluminium welding repairs

SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS

Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Advanced numeracy skills having the ability to use these skills with weight, volume and distance measurements; Able to work in busy conditions, subject to tight timeframes and with competing demands Absolute discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
