What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Global Service Delivery Manager, this individual will perform in the role of an overall leader and technical IT architect overseeing the delivery of contracted storage - backup services in support of a managed services client account. This position is client facing and you will be called upon to speak to technical team members of your own team and the customer to provide advice and council for various implementation techniques, architectural recommendations and decisions, and troubleshooting during incident and system outage events. Participation and perspectives on new solution proposals will be a significant part of the role as the pre-sales and sales teams work with the client to identify growth opportunities and expand our existing responsibilities. The Candidate is a team player, a motivator and a problem solver, able to analyze complex problems and form workable solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will be as follows:
  • Architectural and Design work
    • Developing and Maintaining Configuration standards
    • Process - framework definition
  • Change control
    • Validation of the submitted plans from resident teams
    • Change Advisory Board ("CAB") reviewer - approver
    • Implementation Quality Assurance
  • Team Lead
    • Global initiatives and projects
    • Task - team management
  • Technical expert
    • Escalation, high-level incident
    • Sustaining/Engineering Development Interface (PER/RFE)
    • Provide knowledge transfer to all technical team members

What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Deep understanding of Hitachi File - Content technologies, especially for HNAS, followed by HCP. Netapp, HDI, HCI, HCP AW and HCP SfC would be a plus
  • Good understanding of different networking aspects: IPv4-v6, routes, firewalls, DNS, load balancers
  • Experience with Windows and Unix clients using CIFS/SMB1-2-3/NFSv2-v3-v4
  • Understanding of the permissioning models available on the different share protocol versions (access control, share-level permissions, NTFS permissions, POSIX, security description, SACL, etc)
  • Experience with data migration for both CIFS - NFS data.
  • Basic block storage knowledge (raid groups, LUN creation - mapping, hdp/hdt, hur/tc replication, etc)
  • Experience with troubleshooting and handling high severity incidents
  • Knowledge with virtualization platforms (vmware and/or hyperv) is a plus but not required
  • Great customer facing resource, comfortable working under pressure, great communicator
  • Experience with managing tasks, projects, and resources
  • Experience with writing/updating technical and architectural documents (guides, processes, design docs)
  • Experience with coaching/teaching
  • Aptitude to document and follow processes
