What You Will Be Doing
  • Supporting the negotiation and closure of complex and material transactions from beginning (bid stage) to end (receipt of cash in bank)
  • Supporting multi-million dollar managed services, consumption/as-a-service, leasing and complex capex contracts, involving infrastructure-as-a-service, SaaS, Enterprise License Agreements, financial constructions/leasing/payment plans, rebates and asset buybacks, and other complex deal structures
  • Working closely with Sales and Commercial Managers to understand customer and internal business cases and formulate contractual solutions to create win-win scenarios for the company and its customers
  • Acting as a key business partner for Sales, Commercial, Finance and Legal
  • Drafting contractual language in respect of key commercial terms (pricing, minimum commitment clauses, guarantees, SLAs, financial terms, etc) and obtaining approval from Legal and Finance (and other key stakeholders, e.g. Services, where applicable)
  • Negotiating terms with customers, document negotiated changes and working with key stakeholders to finalize contracts
  • Negotiating back-to-back terms with suppliers
  • Understanding and articulating company's key financial and legal criteria both to company management and to customers, and ensuring that all contracts are closed in line with company policy, within governance thresholds and optimized to meet company's revenue and margin goals
  • Advising on technical accounting aspects of P&L/business case presentation
  • Advising on representation of transactions within company's quoting and financial systems
  • Assisting with forecasting and reporting of key company metrics (e.g. cashflow)

What You Bring To the Team
  • At least 5-7 years' experience with sales contract management, deal structuring and/or commercial management
  • Experience with IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
  • Understanding of legal principles and application to legal contracts
  • Strong written and numerical skills
  • Confident communicator to individual stakeholders and multiple levels of management including executives
  • Ability to work individually and in teams
  • Ability to work well with diverse cultures and overcome language barriers
  • Proactive approach and ability to work without easily available templates and precedents
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and think creatively under pressure
  • Curious and flexible mindset

For Colorado only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The expected salary for this position in our Colorado office is $85,000 - $121,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
