Location: Bangalore


The Role:

Technical knowledge and hands on experience of Hitachi storage products VSP G & F Series, functionality of SVOS, replication products and sound technical knowledge to implement Brocade and Cisco SAN Switches, Software products HDID, HAD, Ops Center.

Hands-on experience and in depth knowledge of data protection technologies Hitachi Shadow copy, Thin image, Copy on write snap, True copy, Universal replicator, 3DC UR , Global active device , HDID ,RAID Manager.

Experience of migration methodologies True copy, GAD, replication, Universal volume manager, Hitachi Tier Storage manager, Shadow Copy.

Deep involvement in the planning and execution of the migration plans to migrate and/or decommission application instances and servers in scope without disruption to business groups.

Knowledge of various operating system and Data base migration tools.

Analysing the method of transforming existing data into a format for the new environment and the loading of this data into new environment.

Reviewing existing migration tools and providing recommendations for improving performance of the migration process.

Experience in working with IBM /EMC and Netapp storages would be an added advantage.

Qualification -

B.E/B.Tech/MSc. With min 6 - 8 years' experience in Hitachi storages

Should possess very good written & verbal communication skills along with impactful presentation skills.

  1. Willingness to work on 24x7 shifts
  2. Experience in working on ITSM/ITIL process-based services. e.g., Using servicenow for ticketing, changes etc.,
  3. Familiarity with Cisco DCNM, Brocade SanNav, BNA
  4. Experience with Hitachi Opscenter toolset, Opscenter analyser


Working knowledge of Operating Systems Windows and various flavour of Unix Solaris, AIX, HP Unix etc.

Experience implementing ITIL and or operational best practices.

Experience in team management and assembling teams to perform services engagements.

Ability to proactively track progress of all project team members and keep people (often, peers) on task.

Identify key deliverables, anticipate risks, handle trade-offs and can make decisions while being comfortable with ambiguity and change.

Should be a team player and should possess very good inter-personal skills.

• Provide production support and maintenance services for Hitachi VSP G/F series, VSP, USPv, HNAS, HCP and Brocade SAN network directors & switches.
• Liaise and cooperate with vendors on SAN device firmware or microcode management.
• Work with customer on Technology Refresh, Data Migration, Server Relocation, Data Center Maintenance or Business Continuity Process validation.
• Support SAN related performance monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning.
• Perform change and problem management in detail and follow company standards.
• Manage incident & change according to ITIL standard.
• Prepare quarterly performance reports for Hitachi storage systems and ad hoc performance reports when needed.
• Develop and implement program and/or script, task automation to enhance monitoring/reporting/troubleshooting/health check procedure.
• Performance review against users/SLA requirements and optimize system performance by establish appropriate storage system and SAN network configuration changes.
• Programming and stats skill is an advantage - Perl/Python and R programming, anomaly detection with different statistical models. Performance classification using different approaches like KNN / iForest/ One-class SVM.
• At least 8 years' experience within complex IT environments including storage management and provisioning.
• Fluent English
• Bachelor degree is a must.
