Description

  • Performs routine , preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned MSF (Maintenance and Storage Facility) equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals and manufacturers maintenance instructions.
  • Observes MSF equipment in operation to detect potential failures and locates causes of malfunction.  Responds to equipment malfunctions completing repairs as assigned. Uses electronic test equipment and other specialized tools as required.
  • Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required.
  • Participates in training programs as required.
  • Complies with Safety Rules, Operating Rule Book and first-aid procedures.
  • Role requires flexibility and efficiently which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems.
  • Performs related duties as required
  • Experience in electronic equipment and building maintenance
  • Experience in the use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on a large system or operation.
  • Experience in using and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Rulebook, etc. and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of a building/system.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
