General Responsibilities:

Plan and manage activities for multiple projects to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame by performing any combination of essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a qualified individual to work in the challenging area of electronic controller packaging. Said individual will work a member of a design team and will be responsible for the design and implementation of the enclosures that contain the electronics for various electronic devices such as engine controllers, transmission controllers, Hybrid Power Inverters, Battery modules, etc.

Individual will also work closely with our key customers. For locally designed products, individual will be directly working with customer to make sure that all project deliverables are net. For products designed at satellite offices, individual will serve as communication liaison between the overseas design site and the customer.

Qualifications / Skills Required:

• 3D CAD – Solidworks is preferred
• Basic FEA skills
• Familiarity with standard automotive procedures (DFMEA, PPAP, Design Reviews, etc.)
• Ability to manage, organize and plan time and projects
• Good communication skills(both verbal and written)
• Ability to work independently to achieve a project completion
• Ability to set and manage budgets
• DFM
• VA/VE
• Working electrical knowledge
• Foreign Language
• Working knowledge of various manufacturing techniques

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is also required.

Education:       Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:     Minimum of 3 - 5 years applicable experience.  Any experience working as a design engineer in the automotive industry is a plus.

Working conditions:

Physical Demands:  Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed.

Must be able to report to the office when needed (troubleshooting prototypes, etc.).  Otherwise, working remotely is allowed.
