POSITION SUMMARY:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the business operations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner whilst adhering to SH&E policies and statutory regulations and alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance system and that all documentation under your control conforms to Quality and Management Systems. Promote company values
  • Comply with all company policies, standards, specifications and systems
  • Present themselves for work in a fit state
  • Perform their duties to the best of their ability
  • Turn out work of a consistently high quality with minimal rework
  • Carry out reasonable instructions given by your supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operational Requirements

  • Optimising customer satisfaction by liaising with customers.
  • Contributing to the sales planning, analysis information.
  • Contribute to the production of the sales budget.
  • Prepare and supply customer quotations.
  • Negotiate with customer regarding warranty claims and complaints.
  • Maintain the company’s high standard of business ethics in dealings with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Commence, maintain, and update delivery data and keep the customer informed of any changes to supply.
  • Negotiate and purchase of parts and services to ensure best quality, price and delivery.
  • Liaise with subcontractors in relation to the company and customer requirements.
  • Liaise with other departments/branches to optimize customer satisfaction, delivery, quality and cost outcomes.
  • Enter and update all relevant information required by company systems and procedures.
  • Manage the administration of the branch.
  • Management of all Branch Personnel.
  • Relieving duties at other Branches as and when required.
  • Maximise job profitability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage the stock levels held within the branch.
  • Ensure compliance of the branch with all relevant policies, ISO management and Hitachi JSOX requirements
  • Provide cultural and strategic leadership to guide the branch to the company vision and goals
  • Be responsible for the performance of the branch to deliver the budget and EBIT expectations.
  • Oversee the implementation of systems to improve workflow through the workshop as part of the operational team;
  • Assist in the compliance audit procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety observations with workshop employees

Employee Management

  • Develop and support a performance-based culture and actively implement the company performance review process.
  • Work with Human Resources department in relation to employee disciplinary matters.
  • Provide group and one to one coaching and training to employees using company approved resources.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of complex workplace disciplinary or Workers Compensation cases with the Human Resources department.

Training and Development of Employees

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of employee knowledge.

Systems

  • Entry of data to Pronto

Strategic Projects

  • Actively contribute to and participate in the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects as required.

Safety                                                                                     

  • All employees must complete initial HEPI Induction Training. 
  • Employees must adhere to all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, and other work practices established by HEPI or governed authorities.
  • Avoid any activity that creates or poses a serious hazard to themselves or others while working for HEPI.
  • Immediately bring any safety concern to your supervisor, or others designated by departmental procedures.  If any employee believes that performing an assigned work task or activity may pose a serious risk to life or health or non-compliant, discuss the issue immediately and directly with your supervisor. 
  • Prior to operating any equipment supplied by HEPI, employees are to be adequately trained, equipped, monitored, evaluated, and guided as appropriate, to comply with established policies, standards, and procedures.

COMPETENCIES:

Business and Technical Systems

  • Knowledge of current OH&S legislation and best practice.
  • Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Pronto Database or ERP system. Able to plan, develop and maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems.

Academic and Trade Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Management
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.

Work Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience in similar position
  • Knowledge of current OH&S legislation and best practice.
  • Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Pronto Database or ERP system. Able to plan, develop and maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems.

Preferred Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in business / management
  • Experience with Pronto
  • 10+ years’ experience
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Previous experience working in mining / manufacturing industry.
