POSITION TITLE:                          Sr. Reverse Logistics Specialist - Supply Chain

DEPARTMENT NAME:                 Supply Chain

REPORTING TO TITLE:                Manager, Purchasing and RMA

This Sr. Reverse Logistics Specialist will be responsible for monitoring material planning, warranty and repair processing, and purchasing of semiconductor equipment parts to support operations for Hitachi High Technologies America, Inc.  This position will interface with both Japanese and domestic suppliers as well as customers and engineers on current and emerging purchasing and supply chain issues. 

The desired applicant must have a four year college degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or relevant major and a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant material planning and warranty/repair handling experience or an educational equivalent.  The successful candidate must lead the RMA team in well-organized manner and have the ability to make complex and timely decisions as part of the supply chain team.  Effective communication and presentation skills, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required.  Some domestic/international travel is required.  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is necessary.  Basic knowledge of SAP is required.  Basic knowledge of Salesforce is preferred.


  • Interface with customers, engineers, suppliers as well as Hitachi Japan to perform and maintain good supply chain on warranty/repair issues and material planning that support HTA budget goals and requirements by customers.
  • Work closely with all departments to perform warranty/repair-related activities and material planning in a timely manner.
  • Create reports and maintain dashboards to update warranty/repair activities to upper management.
  • Review all warranty/repair-related transactions in SAP confirming all transactions meet the requirement and support resolving any issues with RMA team and management.
  • Create and maintain procedures for the repair/warranty and returns department.
  • Travel (domestic and international) as needed.  
  • Handle all duties with discretion while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Special, short- or long-term projects as requested.
  • Must be able to support other international time zones by working potentially non-core hours as needed


  • A 4-Year Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Distribution or equivalent major.
  • APICS or ISM certification a plus.


  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Material Planning, Warranty/repair handling, Purchasing, Customer Service, or Inventory Planning environment or equivalent education background can substitute for experience.
  • Knowledge about semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Travel (domestic and international) as needed.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Have basic knowledge and experience in SAP.
