Mission :

Integrated in the RAM department belonging to the RAMS unit, you will be integrated in a multidisciplinary team in charge of RAMS governance. The mission is to:

·         Lead the execution of the RAM Programme of the products and systems, in accordance with applicable requirements, company guidelines and applicable standards

·         Coordinate with development teams and project teams

·         Produce RAM Plan, RAM Analysis and RAM requirements verification

·         Verify and sign off  design, of systems /products RAM related requirements,

·         Enforce Design for RAM

·         Support the Product Development team in finalizing the design in order to guarantee the maximum level of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability in compliance with the RAM Standards

·         Support the Commissioning teams in identifying and prioritize  activities needed to guarantee the minimum level of RAM performance of the various technologies throughout the various commissioning phases

·         Perform RAM governance activities

·         Contribute to the delivery of systems /products in compliance with the project/programme schedule and budget

·         Reporting to the Product Development Engineer for status, deadline, schedule and budget


·         Metro/Railway projects and bids

·         Support on other projects on request



Ensure execution of the RAM activities throughout products lifecycle, in accordance with Hitachi Rail process and guidelines

·         Establish Products RAM Programme

·         Support and Plan RAM activities

·         Define RAM requirements for products

·         Manage RAM activities and budget forecast

·         Provide feedback to product design team since the early phases of the product lifecycle

·         Perform Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis

·         Perform failure detection analysis

·         Perform a maintainability predictions and tests

·         Reliability modelling techniques, RBDs, FTA, Markov Chains, Petri-Nets etc.

·         Life Cycle Cost analysis

·         Products reliability predictions according to International Standards IEC 61709:2017, MIL-HDBK 217F, FIDES etc.

·         Manage internal and external interfaces with other departments, suppliers, partners and clients

·         Ensure development, improvement and implementation of RAM standard processes.


Required skills

·         From 5 up to 10 years of experience in RAMS

·         Strong knowledge in electronics components and designand  in electronics

·         Knowlede of Internation Standards applicable to Railway domain e.g. EN 50126

·         Background in Reliability Engineering in products/system for industry (Railway, Aerospace, …)

·         Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software

·         Knowledge of Isograph Rliability Workbench Tool or equivalent

·         Experience in RAMS design

·         Experience in product development having functional safety requirements and RAM requirements (EN50126, EN50129...)

·         Experience in product development having high availability requirements

·         Experience in FPGA and FW/SW development

·         Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams

·         Ability to use electronic instrument for measures and signal analysis

·         Ability to use SW tools for electronic design/validation (e.g. Mentor Xpedition, Pspice and ModelSim Simulator, RAM Commander, …)

·         Practical skill in electronics (soldering, debug of electronic boards, building circuit for test support, …)

·         Technical decision management

Education / Qualifications

·         Electronics Engineering Degree or Equivalent Technical Background


·         English (spoken and written) proficiency

·         French or Spanish (spoken and written) knowledge is a plus
