Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a fast-paced environment in a wide variety of Construction and Installation related tasks from administrative to strategic within a matrixed Project and Technical Organization. This position is based in Pearl City, HI.

Accountabilities

  • Report to and support the Construction Manager:
  • Maintain project notes to include daily activity job completion log and verification of subcontractors installation reports on work completed.
  • Preparation of monthly progress applications and settlement of final accounts.
  • Ensure risk registers, variation trackers sheets are reviewed and updated monthly and included within monthly reports.
  • Preparation of interim progress applications for payment and internal valuations.
  • Recognition and preparation of claims and variations, giving in return the economic evaluation of the related activities.
  • Ensure the compliance of the project payment certificate (PPC) with the contractual scheme.
  • Preparation of the Progress Payment Certificate for subcontractor(s).
  • Establishing, monitoring and maintaining reporting arrangements, resources and client relationships.
  • Reporting: Implementing/monitoring/controlling the construction reporting including (Daily/Weekly/Monthly Progress report, Quarter Progress Report QPR and Client Presentation).
  • Coordinating and monitoring material receipt for proper quantities and timely rectifying any shortages.

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Minimum of seven plus year’s experience working for a contractor as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Familiar with rail metro projects transit systems technologies (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Communications and Signaling Subsystems)
  • Core skills: communication, presentation, documentation, training, delivery.
  • Experience with estimating, budgeting, and planning.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to complete written reports and electronic communications expeditiously and with a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of PCs and software applications related to the work.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum of seven (7) plus years of experiences in Quantity Surveying.
  • BS Degree Engineering Disciplines or Construction (Or Other Applicable Experiences)
