Quality Assurance Technician / Inspector

Status: Temporary, full-time for 6 months

SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, performs a wide variety of tasks that are relevant to QA. Works closely with all areas of the company to support organizational success. This is a non-management position requiring independent analysis and action. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage Certificate of Compliance filing (Jira database)
  • Follow up and file manufacturing quality documents, including IQC, IPQC, FQC, and machine shop inspection quality data
  • Coordinate JIRA projects: NCMR, RMA, RTV incidents, and Kaizen projects
  • Support the routine Internal audit (Jira database)
  • Support training materials, ISO documents, and video clip drafting & editing
  • Support assembly inspections and validations (IQC, IPQC, FQC)
  • Support various tests during product development phases, including customer on-site test
  • Support tasks related to customers (RMA) and suppliers (RTV)
  • Support tool, device, test equipment calibration task

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicates well with Engineering/Manufacturing Department people to conduct the above duties.
  • Attends or holds QA meetings as appropriate, prepares agenda and issues meeting minutes when requested by QA Mgr.
  • Encourages the employees to improve HPES product quality through training, meetings, etc.
  • Performs other QA related duties as assigned or directed.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Lift and carry 35 pounds occasionally. Communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Repair/install mechanical devices and spare parts, by use of hand tools, etc. Movement within office complex and in confined spaces around machines and products under construction. Communicate by telephone and in person. Visual acuity and manual dexterity needed for close detail work, computer use, operation of machines, use of testing and measurement devices, the assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes and the reading of drawings, blueprints and documents. Normal color perception (no color blindness).

MENTAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Complex English reading, writing, and strong customer presentation skills.  High math and analytical skills.  Must possess high skill level in areas of independent analysis, judgment, and complex engineering problem solving.  Must be tactful, diplomatic, and professional in all customer interactions.  Moderately complex reading, writing and math skills.  Requires considerable perception, comprehension and analysis in resolving problems and making recommendations.  High task organization skills.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Works alone and with others in a general office, industrial/medical, and/or laboratory setting when performing on-site service.
