ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide QA support for process capability studies conducted on production lines in support of PPAP and improvement activities.
  • Support engineering with countermeasures and confirmation of effectiveness for investigation reports issued to internal processes.  Review Cost of Quality aspects related to investigation reports. Work to improve investigation process to decrease the impact on CoQ.
  • Establish measurement method standards for process checks and PPAP layout per ASME best practices measurement methods.
  • Work with SQA and QE to establish receiving inspection standards that communize measurement methods per ASME best practices and supplier capabilities.
  • Support quality training program by establishing\updating training material as needed.  Provide training for technicians, inspectors, and end of line inspectors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Ten (10) years quality experience with a minimum of five (5) years of tier-one automotive quality experience.  
  • Five (5) years of Calypso programming experience.
  • Must be able to define quality concepts and quality processes, including six sigma basics, cost of quality, etc.; must be able to apply quality tools; must be able to interpret information and data; must be able to apply team concepts both as a member and leader. 
  • Must be able to define statistical techniques, including basic elements of design of experiments (DOE) and reliability; must be able to determine what data to collect for a specific technique, how to apply it to various statistical methods, and how to analyze results. 
  • Must know which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; must understand the concept of standards traceability for M&TE. 
  • Must understand and be able to apply basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans; must be able to read and interpret blueprints (drawings), including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). 
  • Must understand and be able to apply various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques. 
  • Must understand and be able to apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material. 
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.

None.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, push, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. 
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 
This position works in a warehouse/production environment.  The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 
The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
