Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Local Construction Intern who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The position is based in Pearl City, HI and the successful candidate will report to the Construction Manager.

  • Report to and support the HRH Senior Construction Manager
  • Coordinate HRH Project Construction Team for the installation of system technologies within in the constraints of schedule, scope, cost, quality, safety and environmental requirements
  • Assist Construction manager in site coordination meetings with various project entities, client/Authorities/Partners/Contractors/Subcontractors.
  • Co-ordinate site activities including civil and technological works in accordance with project delivery plan
  • Co-operate with the Project team, in order to define the planning and the interface milestone with other parties (e.g. sub-contractors)
  • Report on progress and status of work
  • Ensure that the rules foreseen by the HSE Management plan are implemented on site by the construction supervisory team
  • Co-operate with the Supply Planning in order to define the Logistic plan, consistent to the Project Plan
  • Comply with policies and procedures as they relate to telecommunications specifications and standards throughout the rail industry in the USA.
  • Support Technology supervisors with the day-to-day field operations of Subcontractors
  • Track and verify all works beyond the contract scope of sub-contractor
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle stressful situations with good judgment, tact and diplomacy in reference to concerns.
  • Interfaces with various internal and external stakeholders on assigned project coordination
  • Maintains project notes, which include daily activity job completion log
