Description

As part of the Smart Brake platform engineering team, the System Engineer oversees development of the physical architecture, functional architecture & requirements at different level of decomposition of the brake by wire systems, using model-based techniques and ASPICE compliant processes.

Several positions are open to address different system element scopes

  • Overall brake system
  • Power network / HMI
  • Electro-mechanical or Electro-Hydraulic actuators

Brake-by-wire system Engineer missions:

  • Create system development plan and manage sync with sub-system development plans
  • Lead cross functional stakeholders to perform customer requirements analysis and formalize compliance commitments (compliance matrixes)
  • Define System / Sub System Architectural design (Logical and Physical) and feature list
  • Elicitate, flow down and refine requirements based on architectural design
  • Create System &  System element interface documents
  • Create comprehensive, unambiguous and testable requirements at system element level
  • Conduct and document system analyses to justify proposed architecture, requirements and parametrization of system element, using analytical methods and model-based techniques
  • Conduct & document trade studies to propose optimized architecture choices & allocation of requirements to sub system elements
  • Participate in functional safety activities (HARA, FSC, TSC, FTA, SFMEA, DFMEA, fault injection testing…)
  • Support virtual and physical testing activities
  • Support integration / characterization / qualification of prototype samples
  • Support integration of prototype samples into vehicle and test lab equipment
  • Lead problem root cause analysis at system element level
  • Support lessons learnt / look across process, and feed conclusions into platform design continuous improvement

Key qualifications:

  • Master of Science or Engineering Degree (R)
  • Similar automotive system experience, ideally with distributed / ASIL-D products (R)
    • Minimum 2-5y automotive experience in case of electro-mechanics / EE engineering degree
    • Minimum 5-10y automotive experience in case of a Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Practical experience addressing functional safety issues (R)
  • 1D simulation experience (P)
  • Experience across the lifecycle (concept phase / RFQ / development / launch) (P)

Technical skills:

  • Strong technical mindset (R)
    • Culture & curiosity of automotive products
    • Culture & curiosity of multiple fields of technology (mechanical, electro-magnetic, electrical hardware power/logics), software, testing, safety)
    • Common sense of physics
  • Experience in Requirements Engineering (R)
  • Model-based design tools – Cameo Sys Modeler, Rhapsody, EA, System composer… or other SysML/UML based Tool (P)
  • 1D simulation tools – Matlab Simulink (P)
  • Configuration management tools – SVN (P)
  • Requirements management tools – DOORS, DNG (P)
  • Proficient Knowledge and experience of system engineering principles (R)
  • Good understand of ISO26262 standard (R)
  • General understanding of ASPICE process and/or ISO 15288 principles (P)
  • Structured problem-solving techniques (R)
