Summary:

At Hitachi Astemo Americas we’re proud to offer Premium automotive replacements parts to the WD, Retail and Internet channels that meet the needs and wants of our customers. To help us continue to grow our offerings, we’re in search of an experienced product manager. We are looking for a candidate, with a keen eye for gaps in consumer product offerings and the innovative mindset to fill them. We are seeking a skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of product production from conception through release. We are also looking for confident leader who has experience working with cross-functional teams, creating products that improve consumer experience, and grow market share.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and maintain product database
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing your product lines from beginning to end
  • Responsible for supporting sales related questions and request related to your categories
  • Research and maintain application data for your categories
  • Research and review new product opportunities
  • Establish Market pricing by channel utilizing market data for new and existing products
  • Execute product level price shops, while utilizing market data to establish and maintain competitive sales price while maintaining profitability targets.
  • Research and understand your competition, utilize this knowledge to develop market strategies within your category that create separation between Hitachi and the marketplace
  • Maintain relationships with global purchasing team and external suppliers
  • Work with global purchasing by providing marketplace feedback related to but not limited to purchase targets, competitive insights for new and existing product offerings
  • Manage product life cycle for your categories
  • Understand production timetables and how it relates to product launches
  • Understand how your categories are performing, and provide reporting based on set KPI’s and objectives
  • Execute new product releases

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong/effective verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Team player who collaborates well with others
  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure
  • Powersports and Automotive knowledge in the following categories preferred:
    • Braking
    • Suspension
    • Engine management products
  • Microsoft Products
    • Strong Excel skills, Powerpoint, MS Word

Education:  Possess a bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Sales or other related field.

Experience:  5+ years overall experience in Aftermarket Sales or related fields.

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  N/A

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Have ability to work 40 – 60 hours per week.

Travel: This position requires up to 10% travel.  Domestic and international may be required as needed.
