About the Opportunity

Due to an internal transfer, an opportunity has become available for a focused and motivated individual to join our leadership team in Mackay in the position of Customer Support Manager. This role will see you positively enabling and leading a team of skilled and motivated individuals who are passionate about providing a high level of after-sales customer support for Hitachi Mining Excavators, Electric Drive Dump Trucks, Construction Equipment and associated OEM product lines.

Promoting business growth and development within your department, this role will have you maintaining a positive link between valued customers and the company to exceed customer expectations and execute business growth strategies. This position will be best suited to a dedicated mining professional who is connected and committed to delivering service and maintenance outcomes to achieve Total Customer Satisfaction.

About You - to be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Safety Commitment - Proactive awareness and total assurance of Hitachi's number one priority
  • Trade Qualified - Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (or related heavy diesel qualifications) or alternatively Certificate III in Electro technology - Systems Electrician
  • Pro-active Leadership - Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring a talented team, whilst building valuable relationships with customers, peers and the community
  • Business Development & Strategic Vision - Identifying continual service improvement and actively chasing every new or potential sales opportunity
  • Financial Coordination - Proven financial acumen with prior exposure to departmental budgets, evaluating labour costs and project expenditure
  • Personable and Professional Communication Skills - above all else, your personality and charismatic character will be what sets you apart from the rest when dealing with internal and external stakeholders to deliver customer success stories
