POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for safe and secure deliveries between Nevada & Corson shops, vendors and customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety – conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.
  • Understands and follows company safety requirements while maintaining a clean and safe work environment for all. Report potential hazards, accidents and or injuries to your supervisor immediately.
  • Dependable attendance, efficient use of time and ability to work extra hours as needed.
  • Knowledge of the proper operation of all tools, chemicals and equipment necessary to perform job duties.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate positively with management, co-workers, vendors and customers. Always presenting yourself in a professional manor (Dress Code).
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Notify Manager of any vehicle issue so it can be repaired.  
  • Plan dump runs when required to remove trash.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management and strive for continual improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain general shop cleanliness (sweeping, mopping and empty trash).
  • Perform warehouse tasks (picking, receiving, put away and delivery to shop floor).
  • Perform weekly cycle counts.
  • Responsible for receiving into Pronto.
  • Responsible for packaging, wrapping and or banding of all freight going in/out of building. 
  • Responsible for loading and unloading of all in/out bound freight.
  • Keep accurate report forms - Daily drivers log, daily vehicle inspection and movement of goods.

DECISION MAKING:

Position will not be required to make decisions that will directly impact the department.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

Position requires collaboration with department managers and current/potential customers.

Consistent interaction with Assembly Shop Manager, Parts Manager, Parts Clerks, Counterman and Shop Technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license providing proof of 21 years of age or older to make commercial deliveries into Canada.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Able to obtain a Health Card to make deliveries into Canada.
  • Knowledgeable in the proper use of bridge / jib crane operation, lifting rigging and proper securing of all objects. Certified in forklift operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the accountabilities of the job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, feel with their hands, reach and handle materials weighing up to 10 pounds. The employee will frequently need to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, walk and handle materials weighing 10-20 pounds. On occasion the employee will need to handle materials weighing 20-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to sit (drive) for extended periods of time with heightened safety sensitivities to your surroundings.
  • Possess the manual dexterity to operate equipment and devices used to perform the necessary job functions.
  • Visual awareness and good eye and hand coordination.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection and Footwear (REQUIRED). 
  • Physically able to lift 40lbs and to seek assistance when needed and adhere to company lifting procedures.
  • Ability: walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, reach, grasp, push, pull and repetitive arm and bending movements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving objects (materials handled and transported throughout the plant via cranes, fork trucks and other employees). The employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles. The employee is also frequently exposed to sharp and abrasive edges which may result in scrapes, cuts and bruises. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
