About the Team

Hitachi ZeroCarbon has two elements, firstly the Incubation Factory which uncovers the next ventures which can be commercialised within the next 2-5 years, and secondly the Venture Business which turns Incubations into fully operating businesses.  Our Incubation centre of excellence is designed to deliver the industry’s most innovative end-to-end decarbonisation solutions to customers worldwide, powering the global transition to a zero-carbon world. Through our robust and repeatable incubation framework, we generate carbon reducing growth-oriented ventures though a culture of Green x Industrial x Digital innovation, bringing together a truly entrepreneurial environment and the best of our expertise from all of Hitachi Ltd.

Role Overview

As a Marketing Leader within Hitachi ZeroCarbon, you will be responsible for the marketing strategy, delivery and budget management across the whole business globally, predominantly focussed on our newest venture - fleet decarbonisation, focussing on large scale EV fleets and infrastructure. You will be responsible to launch and drive the new decarbonisation “ZeroCarbon” brand into the market. You will be accountable for the development, design, and organisation of social media, thought-leadership content, and sales collateral. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the creation and management of our website and all activities related to Branding, Events, PR, in-person and digital events.  Lead generation is the ultimate goal of our events programme.

The candidate will be working with both internal and external stakeholders on projects involving a diverse range of technology areas, therefore an ability to flex between disciplines, projects and topics is essential. 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Create, and iterate on, a comprehensive content strategy to build upon the ZeroCarbon brand
  • Manage Marketing costs within budget
  • Launch & drive new decarbonisation “ZeroCarbon” Brand into market
  • Generate leads for the Fleet venture
  • Produce & drive marketing plans for each venture​
  • Write content for multiple channels, fully understanding the difference in audiences
  • Develop social media posts and thought-leadership articles that express ZeroCarbon’ s point-of-view and share success stories of our clients
  • Liaise with our in-house design team to create on-brand assets across channels
  • Track performance of content initiatives and know when, why, and how to switch gears
  • Connecting with teams to gather learning objectives, content requirements, and assess learning delivery and communications processes
  • Working with key stakeholders to define, implement, and document processes for content creation and knowledge management
  • Plan and manage global end-to-end digital and in-person events
  • Work cross-functionally with sales team to build qualified lead lists and grow attendance at events

Skills & Competencies Required:


  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Experience in industry, transportation, mobility, and digital services
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional copywriting, proofreading, and design acumen
  • A deep understanding of SEO and marketing best practices across web, social, email marketing, etc.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage, and complete diverse projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with content creation and management tools; proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Desire to develop, iterate, organize, and manage impactful content
  • Self-motivated, highly organized and collaborative, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience structuring, formatting, and tracking content for maximum impact and usability
  • Portfolio of content and campaigns


  • Previous experience working with start-ups/ corporate incubators or in EVs
  • An understanding of digital technologies (IT and OT) and the future low carbon economy
  • Interest in a wide variety of global business topics, particularly entrepreneurship
  • Excellent time and project management skills; comfortable working virtually
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Persuasive written and oral communication style
  • Bold — likes to take on increasing levels of responsibility
