Summary:

Hitachi America, Ltd, (http://www.hitachi-america.us/) is searching for a highly-motivated, proactive, business-minded Corporate Compliance Program Manager to develop, implement, and oversee critical aspects of the company’s corporate compliance program. As part of this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company, within the Legal and Compliance Team and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enhance the HAL corporate compliance program, developing processes and content under the direction of the HAL Chief Compliance Officer and Hitachi, Ltd. corporate compliance department.
  • Act as primary point-of-contact for the development and delivery of HAL’s corporate compliance communications, training, policies and procedures.
  • Manage HAL’s whistleblower hotline and conduct employee misconduct investigations (other than HR and Data Privacy matters).
  • Implement and manage HAL’s third party integrity risk management program.
  • Keep up-to-date on changes in regulatory and business environments which may require adjustments to current program.
  • Act as HAL liaison to Hitachi Ltd. with regular reporting regarding corporate compliance program improvement progress and whistleblower/internal investigations data within HAL business units.
  • Assist with Legal and Compliance operational and administrative duties.
  • This position will have regular interactions with and opportunities to collaborate within, and beyond, the broader Legal & Compliance team, Human Resources, Finance, and IT.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in corporate compliance program development, management, improvement.
  • 2+ years’ experience managing third party risk assessment and due diligence program
  • 3+ years of experience in conducting employee misconduct investigations and/or detailed audits with a focus on financial crimes (e.g., bribery, antitrust, money laundering, fraud, etc.) and conflicts of interest. Working knowledge and application of internal investigation methodology best practices is imperative.
  • Experience with conducting compliance risk assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. An individual who can work with a range of internal and external business and legal professionals, manage multiple priorities and projects with firm deadlines, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • High integrity.
  • A business-oriented, practical risk and balanced approach, using their working knowledge of the law and enforcement trends.
  • Required: working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: CFE, SCCE or other corporate compliance program management accreditations, past experiences working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Visio, and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, etc.), and/or ESG experience are a plus.

For Colorado only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The expected salary for this position in our Colorado office is $110 K – $120 K. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America, Ltd’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
