Summary:

Hitachi America, Ltd, (http://www.hitachi-america.us/) is searching for a highly-motivated, proactive, business-minded Data Privacy professional to manage critical aspects of the Data Privacy program.  You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company and within the Legal and Compliance Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, scale and assist with negotiation of data protection agreements.
  • Implement, scale and manage the privacy aspects of Hitachi America, Ltd’s vendor risk program.
  • Support the response to data subject access requests.
  • Track and respond to stakeholder questions about the Data Privacy program.
  • This position will have regular interactions with and opportunities to collaborate within, and beyond, the broader Legal & Compliance team.
  • Assist with Legal and Compliance operational and administrative duties

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in data privacy.Commitment to learn and build expertise in data privacy.
  • 2+ years of experience in negotiating data protection agreements or similar agreements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. An individual who can work with a range of internal and external business and legal professionals, manage multiple priorities and projects with firm deadlines, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • High integrity.
  • A business-oriented, practical risk and balanced approach, is required.
  • Required: working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: CIPP certification.

For Colorado only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The expected salary for this position in our Colorado office is $100 K – $110 K. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America, Ltd’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
