The opportunity  

Are you passionate about engineering and eager to contribute to the global energy transition? Join our Mechanical Design team within Power Transformers in Ludvika.  

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will develop mechanical solutions for transformers and reactors, working closely with colleagues in engineering, production, project management and other global functions. You will be part of a collaborative team of around 70 engineers where knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and teamwork are key to our success.   

This role is based in Ludvika, Sweden, and we are currently recruiting for multiple engineering positions within the Cleats & Leads, Winding, and Core & Active Parts departments.

How you'll make an impact 

• Perform mechanical design and product development using Creo. 

• Prepare production drawings, technical documentation, and design deliverables. 

• Interpret and apply engineering standards, technical requirements, and customer specifications. 

• Perform strength calculations and support technical evaluations to ensure robust and reliable solutions. 

• Collaborate with project teams and customers to solve design challenges and deliver high-quality results. 

• Drive and contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and research initiatives that advance our industry. 

• Support projects that contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable energy future. 

• Develop your technical and professional skills through challenging assignments and continuous learning opportunities.

Your background 

We believe you have:  

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, or equivalent experience. 

• Experience in mechanical design and 3D CAD. PTC Creo is an advantage. 

• Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills. 

• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Swedish is an advantage. 

• A curious, proactive mindset and willingness to learn. 

• Ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to continuous improvement. 

• Initiative and engagement to drive positive change and influence outcomes. 

• Experience from the energy sector, electrical equipment, heavy industry, or transformer technology is an advantage.
