Product owner

Job Description

We are seeking a Product Owner in Gothenburg, focused on ensuring stability and ongoing evolution of critical security components for the automotive middle-layer platform. You'll be responsible for your own service priorities and backlog, coordinate stakeholders and supplier interfaces, maintain transparency of scope, risks and status, and drive operational decisions and escalations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in technical product ownership, project management, or engineering coordination within automotive embedded systems.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and collaborate across OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and external supplier boundaries.
• Strong prioritization skills, clear communication abilities, and a strict discipline for delivery and execution.
• Maintain clear ownership, current status, next actions and escalation path for open issues.
• English: B2 upper intermediate.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Vehicle Integration Unit (VIU) environments and maintenance scopes.
• Prior experience collaborating with or working within Volvo Cars ecosystems and stakeholder groups.
• Proven track record of managing technical risk and driving complex engineering escalations to closure.

Job Responsibilities

• Own and continuously prioritize the service and maintenance backlog in alignment with internal stakeholders and client.
• Act as the primary operational point of contact for the VIU maintenance scope, providing transparent updates on project status, risks, and escalations.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder interfaces, manage supplier dependencies, determine release priorities, and drive issue resolution.
• Ensure transparent planning, follow-up, and clear communication of all maintenance and operational activities.
• Guarantee that critical issues are assigned clear ownership, ensuring that operational decisions and technical escalations are successfully driven to closure.
• Maintain comprehensive service knowledge and documentation to support the stability and continuity of the maintenance setup.
