Senior Observability Stack Engineer

Job Description

Project is for a global medical customer where GlobalLogic team is building Observability platform to track the health of PACS systems deployed at client side.

Requirements

We are looking for a hands-on Observability Developer to design, architect, and build and maintain our monitoring and telemetry ecosystem from the ground up. You will act as a core developer focused entirely on building robust observability infrastructure, designing custom metrics pipelines, and creating high-utility visualization tools.

• Prometheus Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience setting up Prometheus architectures, writing complex PromQL queries, and managing alerts.
• Ecosystem Knowledge: Proven experience configuring Prometheus scrapers, service discovery mechanisms, and node_exporter configurations.
• Grafana Mastery: Expert-level ability to build advanced, production-grade Grafana dashboards from the ground up (not just modifying templates).
• AWS Cloud Environment: Strong familiarity with AWS infrastructure, including EC2, ECS/EKS, IAM, and networking concepts.
• Software Development: Strong programming skills in Python for automation, data parsing, or building custom metric exporters.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AWS managed observability services (such as Amazon Managed Prometheus or Amazon Managed Grafana).
• Understanding of OpenTelemetry (OTel) standards.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Observability & Tuning: Design and implement a scalable, highly available Prometheus and Grafana monitoring infrastructure on AWS. Build and maintain scalable time-series data infrastructure using Prometheus and Grafana. Optimize scraping intervals, manage high-cardinality metrics, and design dashboards tracking.
2. Metrics Collection: Deploy, configure, and optimize Prometheus scrapers and node_exporters across cloud environments and containerised workloads.
3. Custom Tooling & Automation: Write clean, maintainable Python code to build custom Prometheus exporters, automate pipeline deployments, and interact with the Grafana API.
4. Dashboard Engineering: Design, build, and maintain intuitive, high-performance Grafana dashboards utilizing advanced PromQL, template variables, and drill-down metrics.
