Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated SENIOR Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.
The position is based in Toronto Canada


Accountabilities

·       Ensure the monthly statement issuing, with the Construction Manager, according to the project planning

·       Act jointly with the Construction Manager to achieve the approval of the Progress Payment certificate (PPC) by the client.

·       Ensure compliance of the Progress Payment certificate (PPC) with the contractual scheme

·       Act jointly with Administrative dept to process the invoices (being previously approved according to the STS procedures)

·       Ensure the compliance of the Invoice with the contractual requirements

·       Act with the Construction manager during the preparation of claims and variations, giving in return the economical evaluation of the related activities (priced BOM)

·       All Quantity Surveying duties include re-measurement.

·       Ensure risk registers, variation trackers sheets are reviewed and updated monthly and included within monthly reports.

·       Preparation of interim progress applications for payment and internal valuations.

·       Recognition and preparation of claims and variations, giving in return the economic evaluation of the related activities.

·       Preparation of the Progress Payment Certificate for subcontractor(s).

·       Establishing, monitoring and maintaining reporting arrangements, resources and client relationships.

·       Reporting: Implementing/monitoring/controlling the construction reporting including (Daily/Weekly/Monthly Progress report, Quarter Progress Report QPR and Client Presentation).

·       Coordinating and monitoring material receipt for proper quantities and timely rectifying any shortages.

Job requirements
Required Skills/ Knowledge

• Minimum of 5 plus years experience working for a contractor as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Familiar with rail metro projects transit systems technologies (powers supply, signaling,  TLC, SCADA, Overhead catenary systems)

• Core skills: communication, presentation, documentation, training, delivery.

• Experience with estimating, budgeting, and planning.

• Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Ability to complete written reports and electronic communications expeditiously and with a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.

• Computer proficiency with a strong knowledge of PCs and software applications related to the work.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering.

Salary Range - CAD $101,842.00 - CAD $152,763.00

The current applicable Base Salary Pay Range for this role is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills relevant to the role, internal equity, alignment with market data, or other law.
