The opportunity

Manufacturing Materials Procurement & Inventory Management work encompasses activities related to ensuring the timely availability of materials required for manufacturing operations through effective purchase execution, supplier coordination, and procurement performance management. This includes executing and following up purchase requisitions and purchase orders, confirming supplier commitments, managing commercial and delivery conditions, resolving supply issues, maintaining accurate purchasing data, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes. The role supports alignment between approved material requirements, supplier delivery commitments, ERP data accuracy, and factory operations. Production planning, demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, and production scheduling ownership are excluded from this position. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. 

How you’ll make an impact

• Execute purchasing activities based on approved material requirements, technical specifications, target price, delivery schedule, Incoterms, and agreed terms and conditions. 

• Generate, review, release, and follow up purchase requisitions and purchase orders in alignment with standard procedures, authorization levels, sourcing decisions, and company policies. 

• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain purchase order acknowledgments, confirm delivery dates, and maintain accurate order confirmation and shipping information in the ERP system. 

• Follow up open purchase orders and expedite or reschedule deliveries to address shortages, production-critical requirements, and changes in factory priorities. 

• Lead commercial communication with suppliers regarding price, lead time, minimum order quantity, payment terms, delivery conditions, and other purchasing requirements within delegated authority. 

• Support supplier selection, quotation analysis, bid comparison, negotiation, onboarding, and performance evaluation in cooperation with Category Management and relevant stakeholders. 

• Monitor supplier delivery, quality, responsiveness, and commercial performance, and initiate corrective actions or escalation when required. 

• Identify supply continuity risks and support mitigation actions such as alternative sourcing, supplier recovery plans, capacity confirmation, and urgent logistics coordination. 

• Maintain accurate supplier, price, lead-time, purchase order, and delivery data in ERP systems and ensure timely closure of completed or obsolete purchasing transactions. 

• Support resolution of goods receipt, blocked invoice, price variance, quantity discrepancy, quality hold, and purchase order closure issues with Warehouse, Quality, Finance, and suppliers. 

• Analyze procurement data, spend, price variance, open orders, overdue deliveries, and supplier performance to identify risks, gaps, cost opportunities, and improvement actions. 

• Collaborate with Planning & Fulfillment, Production, Engineering, Quality, TT&L, Finance, Category Management, and suppliers to ensure aligned purchasing execution. 

• Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, procurement policies, authorization matrix, contract requirements, trade compliance rules, and internal control procedures. 

• Support continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives to improve supplier follow-up, purchasing data quality, process efficiency, and reporting. 
• You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field. 
• 3-8 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within manufacturing, industrial, energy, engineering, or a comparable operational environment. 

• Practical experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, commercial terms, delivery management, and purchasing issue resolution. 

• Practical experience using ERP systems for procurement transactions and purchasing data management; SAP experience is preferred. 

• Understanding of procurement principles, supplier management, basic contract terms, logistics, transportation, Incoterms, goods delivery, and invoice verification processes. 

• Ability to analyze quotations, procurement data, open orders, price variance, supplier performance, and supply risks and translate findings into actions. 

• Strong negotiation, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams. 

• Business-level English communication skills sufficient for supplier correspondence, meetings, negotiation, and document review. 

• Demonstrates responsibility, ownership, integrity, transparency, and a detail-oriented working style. 

• Results-oriented attitude with a focus on supply continuity, cost competitiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement. 

• Experience with advanced Excel and exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, macros, Python, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or comparable AI and digital tools for procurement analysis or process automation is preferred.
